Gordon Herzog – 68 Seconds That Can Change the World

Happy New Year! Read or watch the news and 2020 is starting off, depending on your point of view, with justice or a sham. And of course the Independents probably think it’s both, right? Me? I’m an unapologetic Liberal and proud of it. I’m also a bit of a political junkie and that passion often creates a challenge in my ability to apply Unity Spiritual Principles to problems or outrages our country and our world are facing. As a kid who was relentlessly bullied, I have a very strong and virulent reaction to bullying of any kind, but particularly when it’s actually coming from my own Federal Government. So, it’s very easy to get discouraged.

But this morning I re-read something that Abraham Hicks wrote and it sort of crystalized a New Year’s resolution for me. (Emphasis mine.) “Within 17 seconds of focusing on something, a matching vibration becomes activated. And as that focus becomes stronger and the vibration becomes clearer, the Law of Attraction will bring to you more thoughts that match. If you maintain your focus longer, the power of the vibration will become further-reaching. And if you manage to stay purely focused upon any thought for as little as 68 seconds, the vibration is powerful enough that its manifestation begins.”

68 SECONDS! So the next time I read or watch something about my own government ripping a baby from her mother’s arms, or an innovative new assault on LGBTQ equal rights disguised as “Religious Liberty,” or tax cuts for the rich and food and health care cuts for the poor, or kicking millions of people off their health insurance plans with no replacement, here’s what I am going to do: I am going to take a deep breath. I am going to remember I’m only 17 seconds away from a totally different vibration and only 68 seconds away from actually activating the POWER that can change the world. And I am going to feel that outrage and discouragement washing away and being replaced by hope and confidence. SPIRIT’S GOT THIS!
