Gina Donaldson – I Am in Charge of What I Think

What a powerful and welcome message series, The Courage to Heal, has been these past few weeks. I appreciate the wisdom in Rev Kitty’s message series and all the gentle reminders we are getting with the songs, the World Day of Prayer service, the “Your Healing Journey” booklet and our upcoming Healing classes.

Now when I notice negative vibrations inside me during my day-to-day interactions with people, places, things and activities; I ask myself “Who is in charge?”  I remember that no one is the boss of me except for my highest self and I can access my highest self. I am not a rat in a Pavlov experiment, conditioned to a response over and over again. I am a unique expression of God expressing, and I can rise above my past conditioned responses, those that originated from my ego-self and went to live on in my self-conscious.

It is empowering to remember that we can have the life we want if we take control and responsibility for our thoughts.  I love the scripture from Paul “…do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things…and the God of peace will be with you.” Philippians 4:6-9.

I affirm Rev Kitty’s affirmation, My thoughts determine my life experience and I am in charge of what I think. “
