Celebrate the Holidays with Childlike Wonder

Celebrate the Holidays with Childlike Wonder!

Children have a lot to teach us regarding enjoying the holidays. As adults, we get busy decorating, buying gifts, cooking, wrapping presents, and everything else that surrounds getting ready for Christmas. I don’t know about you but I sometimes get so caught up in all the trappings that I find myself stressed and not really enjoying the true wonder of Christmas.

Watching my grandchildren leave cookies and milk for Santa Claus, fully believing that Santa will come to their house and enjoy the snack is priceless. Seeing their faces on Christmas morning in awe of what Santa Claus brought them is pure magic. Hearing my Granddaughter say, “Grandma, you’re the best” as she opens my gift to her. I enjoy the childlike wonder of Christmas through their eyes.

Childlike wonder is definitely Unity principals in action. It is being 100% present, being grateful, having a positive outlook, expressing goodness and unconditional love, and overall loving life just the way it is. I know all these principles but it is sometimes hard to remember. That is exactly why I come to Unity. Kitty’s messages remind me that I am one with Spirit and I have all the qualities of the One. And, being with like-minded people raises my spirits. It’s an oasis in an otherwise hectic world and helps to remind me of how I want to live my life.

My goal is to live with childlike wonder every day of the year.

Have a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!
