Watercolor Brush Pen Class with Susan Rios! Creativity Online!

Do you need a creative outlet, but could use some inspiration, Instruction, or direction? Susan Rios (not to be confused with our own Sue Rio!), an accomplished artist residing in California (and sister of our own Mary Beth Speer!) will provide online instruction to create your own painting with a technique using watercolor brush pens. These pens offer the same blendability as watercolors without the typical mess. Sketch your piece directly onto watercolor paper and blend the colors with just a little bit of water. The picture she will have us do will be spring themed and will be provided to you upon registration so you can sketch or trace ahead of time onto your paper.

The class will be via Zoom on Saturday, March 20^th, 10:00 am – 12:30 pm CST. The class fee will be $20. You will also need to purchase (if you don’t already own) the pens and watercolor paper, which can be used again because we hope to offer subsequent classes. These can be found online at Amazon.com: 24 brush pen set ($22.99) or from the maker: Arteza 24 brush pen set ($21.99). The paper is available from either website as well, with prices varying based on the size and quantity of paper you buy (8”x10” or 9”x12” recommended). Or buy with friends and share a pack! Supplies can also be found at Michael’s stores. The Arteza brand is not required, and any 24-pen set that includes a water brush pen (or you can opt to use a brush dipped in water to blend) should be sufficient for this class and any others we do.

EVERYONE will be able to do this picture! Susan will work with everyone every step of the way. No two pictures will be alike, but they will all be wonderful! Everyone has their own way of creating, which is great. So you need to know that even if you’ve never created or painted, you CAN do this!
