Our SpiritWorks Team is excited to be hosting a book drive for a program called ‘Aunt Mary’s Storybook’. The books you donate will be placed directly in the hands of low-income children who have an incarcerated parent in Illinois. In addition to the book, the child receives an audio recording of their incarcerated parent reading from the book, as well as a short personal message.

Pick up one of the book lists in the Front Room, keeping in mind the biggest need is for soft covered storybooks for 3-6 year-olds and board books for the very small. Also be aware that books that represent all races are appropriate, as well as books written in Spanish.

“Thank you for your willingness to donate books to our organization. When choosing books we ask that you send only new books. These books are a gift and we want the children to feel that they are worth something special.” -Aunt Mary’s Storybook: Companions Journeying Together.
