SABBATICAL!

As you read this, I am headed down to Unity Village for the beginning of my sabbatical.  I’ll stay till the end of next week and return to join you as we celebrate the life of long-time congregant, Jan Munneke on Sunday July 11. (See below for more details.)  Then I’ll spend the rest of July and August renewing body, mind, and spirit before returning to Sunday Services on Sep. 5th.  I leave you in great hands as we’ve scheduled some wonderful speakers and musicians to fill in for me. (Again, see below for a full schedule.) Kim-Char, Highest Good, Rhonda Pignato, Kathy Foulser, our Chaplains and Tech Team will also be there to support you and I hope you will return the blessing by attending weekly to support them with your love. Our Board of Trustees will be on hand to provide administrative support. We’ll introduce them on Sundays so you can chat with them after the Service or you can email questions to Carol Gadbaw, our President, at candocarol@aol.com.  We’ll also be providing a handout in the Front Room with the contact information of those you may need to reach out to while I’m away, along with a schedule of our speakers and events.

If you heard my message this past Sunday, I hope you’ll take me seriously about joining me on my sabbatical. Though we won’t be together in the same location, we can still walk the same path for a few weeks. This is our opportunity to take a breath before we dive back into a “normal” routine. Now that the world is beginning to return from isolation, we may be tempted to rush headlong into familiar habits of pre-Covid. But this is the perfect time to question whether that life was really serving you. 2020 has given us a “do-over” in life…a chance to consider what is really meaningful and what we’ve learned we can live without. It’s an opportunity to redefine what “enough” really is. My intention is to center my heart in God and get clear, not on a 5-year plan, but a simple vision.  What is the next right thing to do during this time away? I believe with this gentle, easy question, asked again and again, I will continue to find restoration along a path that is clear and fulfilling. I believe that Spirit has wonderful wisdom to offer you as you seek your own path to a “new normal.” And if you’d like some questions to get you started on your journey, visit the LIVESTREAM CHAT Channel at Unitycommunityconnect.com and download last Sunday’s handout entitled “Finding Normal”.  I’m excited to chat with you when I return to learn what we’ve discovered. In the meantime, please know that you are in my heart during this time away as I hold you in God’s blessings of peace, wisdom, abundance, and infinite love.

With great love,

Rev. Kitty
