I often refer to it as Spiritually 301. Mystics, mediums, channelers, healers and authors of automatic writings. People who seemingly connect to the other side. To a dimension of Divine energy and information. Interesting? Very cool? Fun? Hmmmm.
Although a small percentage of these people say they were born with these abilities, in my experience every single one of them, without exception, states that with practice anybody can learn to “connect” with their guides or loved ones who have crossed over. After attending Unity in Naperville for a few years, I was “wide open” to personally experience and explore the possibilities.
My first “if this is real, it changes everything” moment came when I tuned into a tv show on the learning channel called “The Long Island medium” about a women named Theresa Caputo. She genuinely seemed to help people who had lost loved ones in their lives, to move on from the resulting grief and depression by delivering unique evidence of their loved one’s existence with messages only they would know and understand. Messages that they were at peace, that they are always with them, that they were sorry or that they wanted this person to move on with their life. I was intrigued and still wide open. More please…
So I had been wanting to visit Unity Village outside of Kansas City. Reverend Kitty often talked about how beautiful it is. That there is a hotel and workshops and retreats available to attend almost every week. My partner Mona and I basically threw a dart at the calendar. It landed on a weekend that had a 2-day retreat featuring Suzanne Giesemann. A former Navy commander and renowned evidential medium who also channels a consciousness that calls themselves “Sanaya”. At the very least we thought it would be entertaining. Rev. Kitty even challenged us and gave us clues on how to find an inscribed brick from Unity in Naperville that was on the campus grounds. How fun! Oh, and after checking the retreat schedule and seeing that we had a two-hour break on the second day, we signed up for a couples past life reading at the Unity spa! You can’t make this stuff up!
The weekend turned out to be life-changing for both of us and inspired me to study and train further with Suzanne Giesemann (Mediumship) as well as with other gifted Spiritual teachers such as our own Rev. Kitty (healing) and Graehme Hall (Hermaden) and more.
So grateful to Unity in Naperville and Rev. Kitty for the guiding principles and the messages of the power of love and kindness, that raise our vibrations, open us up and encourage us to further explore the mysteries of Spirit.
