Life After Death

Reverend Kitty’s talks on life after death were particularly interesting to me. I have had some experiences that make me know without a doubt that there is life after death and that the departed can contact us. One experience was years ago. My Mother died at 53 when I was only 24. It was devastating! Shortly after her death, my husband’s Grandfather had a heart attack. We went to visit him in the hospital and were sitting in the waiting room. I looked across the room and there was a lady on the other side of the room who smiled at me; she looked like my Mother… I could barely contain my emotions and told my husband I needed to get a drink of water. We left the room and went to the water fountain in the hall outside of the room. I asked him if he noticed the woman in the waiting room and he said, “Yes, she looks like your Mother”. We went back to the room and she was gone (we didn’t see her leave while we were in the hall). I’m sure it was my Mother letting me know she was all right and I would be too.

Another time, my older brother had passed away. A few years before, we had taken a family trip to Maui. He wanted to go back but he passed away before we could do it. Shortly after he died, my younger brother and I were sitting in my den talking about him. I had an electronic picture frame in there and it consistently cycled through 100 pictures or more. I looked at the picture frame and there was a picture of my brother and me in Maui. Then, it went to recycle to the next picture, and the picture of my brother and I came up and it came up again…and again…and again. Then, it moved to another picture, and then back to my brother and me for several frames. It continued that way for weeks until a house sitter I had unplugged the frame. Then it went back to its normal cycling. Again, I felt like that was my brother letting me know he was okay and that he was in Maui every day!

I also had a reading with Jack Wells, a Medium in our congregation who graciously donates his time to our fundraisers. He had many interesting comments but the one that was most specific was from my Uncle. My Uncle lived into his 90s before he passed away. At 90, his family had a birthday party for him in Omaha, Nebraska. I flew in for the party. Jack relayed that my Uncle said how much he appreciated me coming to his birthday party and how much fun he had.

So, those experiences and other stories I’ve heard, make me know that there is life after death. I hope this helps someone who is struggling after losing a loved one.
