Beth Schwartz – Faith in That Which I Am

One of Unity’s basic beliefs is that we create our life experiences through our way of thinking. There is power in affirmative prayer, which we believe increases our connection to God.  Rev. Kitty shared a great quote from Abraham Hicks on Sunday, which re-phrased the lesson in this belief: “Practice reaching for the thought that feels best. If you tell it like you want it to be long enough, you will begin to feel it like you want it to be. And when you feel it like you want it to be, it BEs like you want it to be.”

Change your story that you tell people and tell yourself, why you aren’t blessed or experiencing the best God wants to express through you.  Make the story a positive one, one that you want to hear.  Choose that positive story from an inner desire, with a faith OF God within yourself. Your God is coming through you as energy, to direct your life and provide inspiration.

Being around Unity peeps makes it so much easier to remember to apply the faith and positivity in my life. I now find myself focusing more on the good things in my world: a challenging career, a loving family – and not dwelling on the things I wish weren’t part of my world: such as an unappreciative boss (my happiness is not dependent on his approval anyway!) or the ugly paint color in my bathroom (if it truly mattered to my happiness, wouldn’t I have painted over it within the last 17 years?!) or a lack – of wealth or of health in my body.

Stay in alignment with the God in you. This is the love, joy, and clarity of life.
