Do You Know What Your Children are Doing?

This past Sunday on Mothers Day, Reverand Kitty’s message was about parenting your thoughts as if they were your children. Wow, happy Mothers Day to us all! As the third Unity principle states, “We create our own reality through our thoughts and actions”. If you haven’t sat with that long enough to have it sink in, Rev Michael Speer likes to say it a different way, “What you think about, you bring about”.

So Rev. Kitty is reminding us to be conscious of unwanted thoughts creeping into our heads; before we know it, we can be subconsciously creating a different reality of lack, conflict or sickness (and we often wonder where this is coming from).

“Practice, practice, practice…” Kitty often says. “Reading about, praying and meditating on Divine powers builds a foundation that new thoughts will be birthed out of”. We can practice anytime by creating and saying (or thinking) short affirmations confirming those powers. By doing this on a daily basis we can pull out (Denials) and add (Affirmations) thoughts that serve us. Rev. Kitty really does make it sound simple, but we have to put in time and effort, for as she says, practice creates focus and focus keeps us conscious of unwanted thoughts running around in our heads like undisciplined children.

Watch a repeat of the livestream (or listen to the podcast) at Unityinnaperville.org, or on the Unity YouTube channel; you will find some great examples (Lists) of Denials & Affirmations we can use every day.

Kindness and Gray Hair

I read Rev Kitty’s newsletter where she talked about Kindness Week.  It’s a good reminder for everyone on how easy it is to be kind.

In a video I watched, Esther Hicks/Abraham (whom Rev Kitty often acknowledges as one of her favorite teachers), was asked, “Why are we here?”
