Beth Schwartz – Bringers of Light and Love

Good morning Unity Peeps! Welcome to the start of month 3 of our shutdown! As I write this, I am feeling very grateful to be a part of a caring community of giving, wonderful people! Last night the home of our members Kim-Char Meredith, Cindy Blank, and Parker Meredith experienced flooding due to a storm sewer back up in the street in front of their house. If you are on Facebook, you probably saw the calls for help, towels, a generator, etc. I myself braved the flooded roads, and ran over with an armload of old towels. By the time I got there, they already had all of their sound-studio equipment moved out of harm’s way, and were furiously trying to hold back the infiltrating waters with towels, blankets, etc. They would not accept additional help inside (I think, due to social distancing), and I’ve not heard the final damage tally, if they lost equipment or not. But isn’t it a blessing to know that people will be there for you in an emergency?

Jana Stanfield has said, “I cannot do all the good the world needs; but the world needs all the good I can do.” I have frequently seen that giving and helping are a part of the Unity DNA. I saw the Unity powers of Love, Strength, and Understanding all shining through yesterday! The Unity Board of Directors has been holding you all in light these past weeks/months, and we hope to be there for anyone in the congregation that is needing assistance, connection, or anything a community can provide! Graehme Hall said it so wonderfully in her May Newsletter that it bears repeating, “…so much good is also shining right now in the world….Let us be the bringers of light and love. And magnify the well-being, the good we see. After all, that’s who we all are.”
