Are You Paying Attention

At any given point, I generally have three books going – a fiction / fun, a spiritual, and a business-oriented book. They sometimes overlap in “Universe” ways. The fiction book has characters transforming, both physically and growing in knowledge and understanding. The spiritual book asks “’Do I really believe that the Infinite Intelligence within me is God and that He is the only Presence, Power, and Cause in the Universe?’ If you do, you will not blame circumstances, conditions, events, or other people.” (Joseph Murphy, The Miracle of Mind Dynamics). The business book suggests we look at our complaints. Those are the things we actually care enough about to give our attention, and we should change from the language of complaint to the language of commitment – that is, make the changes, look for the ideas and inspiration that are behind our complaints.

Did I mention that I ended last year saying I needed to improve my practice of what I claim to believe? Just in case I was not paying attention on one front, it was presented multiple times and ways. Kitty addressed it today as well with her opening discussion of “Staging an Awakening World.” Time to pay attention. I got it – for today, anyway! I will likely need to be reminded in a day or so, when the next work deadline is looming, or maybe Tuesday since my “one thing” day turned into four things going on back to back. (Good things, but still a lot crammed into the day.)

Happy Awakening Year folks!

The Joy of Being

Some people refer to it as mindfulness or being in the moment. I’ve heard it said that right now is all that will ever matter
