2025 HOLIDAY GIVING FOR GRANDPARENTS RAISING GRANDCHILDREN – NOW THRU SUNDAY DEC 14

Help the children of Grandparents Raising Grandchildren experience the joy of Christmas morning! This year we will be providing gifts for approximately 34 kids, ages 2 to 20 years old. Each grandparent has submitted a list of items that their grandchildren would enjoy or gift cards for older children to select something for themselves.  

There are 3 ways that you can donate gifts to Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: 

1. Purchase a gift or gift card online via Amazon, Target or Walmart. Detailed instructions are below.  You can have the gift delivered directly to Api Mudoh at Metropolitan Family Services or have it delivered to your home and bring the gift to Unity no later than SUN DEC 14.
2.  Purchase gift cards and deliver them to Unity no later than SUN DEC 14
3. Donate monetarily. To donate to Grandparents Raising Grandchildren online at UnityInNaperville.org, click here and enter “Grandparents” in the reason box.  

For those who would like to purchase gifts or gift cards via Amazon, Target, or Walmart, Metropolitan Family Services created wish lists at the 3 retailers to make ordering easy. All you need to do is:

• Click on one or more of the wish lists below:
  • Click here to access the Amazon wish list.  
  • Click here to access the Target wish list. (only a few items are on the Target list)
  • Click here to access the Walmart wish list.
• Add one or more of the items to your shopping cart.
• Proceed to check out.  If you would like the gift sent directly to Metropolitan Family Services, select the address “Api Mudoh” when you are checking out and the gift will be sent directly to Metropolitan Family Services employee Api Mudoh.  Or have the gift delivered to your home and bring it to Unity by SUN DEC 14.
• Once your purchase is complete, Amazon, Target, and Walmart will automatically remove the item from the wish list registry.

SUNDAY DEC 14 is the deadline for all gifts/donations to be received at Unity. Metropolitan Family Services will distribute gifts to the grandparents on December 18 – if you elect to ship a gift or gift card directly to Metropolitan Family Services, please ensure that it will arrive by DEC 17.  

The Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (GRG) program at Metropolitan Family Services mobilizes support services for grandparents who are raising children. The GRG program offers a day and evening (GRG) support group, clinical guidance by licensed social workers and counselors, counseling services for the adult caregivers and for the children they care for.  Education re: legal, financial, insurance and assistance with housing, meals, transportation, emergencies are available.
